FG College is awesome, I wish Laerun and folks had been around in 2015 when I started. The Greatest Simulation Of Cricket Gets The Ultimate Upgrade The forums are impressive (much more info and activity than this sub). Other advice? Get involved in the community. So yes, it will incur some cost, but if you can afford it, you will more than get your money's worth. All your content and campaigns will move forward. But if you have a chance to play (use FG) now, then buy it now. SW takes care of its customers.ģ.) And how are you going to play in the meantime? I mean if you don't need a VTT until December or later, then sure, wait. Personally I expect the price for people who purchased AFTER the KS ended will probably get a price similar to the Rookie price (or maybe even better?).
I guess that's because after 4 years using FG they have never let me down.Ģ.) Yes, we don't know what. But of course, 8000 people will try things the Devs never thought to try, so yea, their will be bugs, but, nothing I expect to be critical.Īll that said, I'm pretty positive with my opinion on SW. So that means everything they could think of or had the manpower to test will be tested. Here's a thought, look at many/most of the competitor VTTs, they still call themselves "beta" and yet are "publicly" available and some are even for sale.Īnother thing SW has said, is the Beta in their view is to test things they can't test. But, SW is very conservative and customer focused. Personally, I expect it to be very close to production and more than usable at that point. Beta might be released in October, and that's to 8k+ people so it will be pretty obvious at that point how viable it is. Be aware that Alpha is already available to some backers, though they are under NDA so we have not heard anything yet.
Now, that's no promise, but I think unless something really hardcore pops up, will will see FGU released this December. Yes it's a KS date, but SmiteWorks stated from the beginning they would not announce a date until they were confident they could make it. Though I'll go ahead and add my reply so you have a second view to think about.ġ.) Rough release date is still December 2019. Any additional advice will be greatly appreciated! This will be my first VTT as far as this style of game is concerned, and I did look at roll20 but FG seems to be a better match as to what I am looking for. I am fairly interested in FGU given a bunch of the new features (DLOS!), but I also want to get the ball rolling. Thank you all in advance for any answers you give!ġ: Do we know of a rough release date yet? I saw on the kickstarter December 2019, but given that it is kickstarter I dont have faith in that estimate.Ģ: I am thinking of buying the ultimate version of the current platform, would there be a way to upgrade from FG to FGU? I assume there will be a cost, but say I start making my campaign, will all of the work I do be able to migrate?ģ: This is more opinion than fact, but would it be worth it to wait for FGU at this point? Instead of buying or subscribing to the current FG? I do plan on buying several books as well and from what I've seen I wont have to repurchase for FGU.
I have done some searching and what I have found hasn't really answered my questions.
